Calistoga Falls

Feel warm and cozy? You will if you visit The Red Leprechaun–a charismatic Irish pub. Partly due to its local frequenters and lively musicians. On December 8th, 2016 lads and lasses huddled in a circle for Folk Revival Festival’s monthly jam session.

Jammers initially synced up with “Will the Circle be Unbroken.” Seasoned veterans called the tunes and instrumental solos as the night jumped along. Bob Dylan’s “Wagon Wheel” was one of the more popular songs played and recognized by jolly listeners. As it waned, background chatter remained, and out of that came the country gospel “Hallelujah I’m Ready.”

Its unwavering spirituality resonated until it receded like water at low tide. Within several different bluegrass standards th jammers managed to get a little playful with a couple of holiday songs. One of which was “Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer.” As everyone wrapped up their session they all made way for Calistoga Falls–the night’s featured group.

Next time you’re in the neighborhood stop by The Red Leprechaun. The Bluegrass Jam session continues every 2nd Thursday of every month.
