This Saturday will mark the 2nd annual Latin American Parade & Festival in Long Beach, thanks to the efforts of local council member Robert Garcia and the DLBA. They have really stepped it up this year boasting two stages of music at the end of the parade route in the East Village Arts District, along with tons more vendors, sponsors, and supporters. The parade kicks off at 1pm on Pine ave then heads down Broadway until it hits Linden and its party time! The entertainment line up has significantly improved, and with headliners like El Presidente this free all-ages show should be a great one to catch.

On the Gaucho Grill Main Stage, enjoy the following acts:

1: DJ Agustin
2: Welcome!
2:30: La Flor, Ranchero Singer
3: Folkloristas de California, Spanish Dancers
3:30:Iliana, Tango Dancers presented by Gaucho Grill
4: Lizette Tatiana, Mariachi Singer
4:15: Julie Simon, Afro-Samba Dancers
4:30: Iliana Rose, Cuban Salsa Band
5: Club Guadalajara, Ballet Folklorico Dancers
5:45: Urban Sol Music, Latin Pop/Rock Singer
6:30: Rumbankete, Cuban & Puerto Rican Salsa Band
7:15: El Presidente, Latin Hip Hop Singer
7:45: Guapacha, Salsa/Latin Jazz Band
8:30: DJ Agustin, to close out the night

On the 1st Street Stage, enjoy the following acts:

1: DJ Chee-Bo
2:30: Adelante Presenations, Salsa Lessons for Kids
3: CAIH, Gelatina, a Musical
3:45: Iliana, Tango Dance Lessons
4:30: Kenny El Supersonico, Latin Singer
4:50: Yukiko Fukushima, Salsa Dancer
5: Rory Seldon with Inner Session, Band
6: Ballet Folklorico Maria, Mexican Dancers
7: Danza Azteca, Aztec Dancers

Last year I was a little disappointed with the promotion for a festival of this size. Based on the rigorous promotion and beefed up parade and festival THIS year I think the 2nd Annual Latin American Festival is going to be a hit! As long as there are homemade tamales for my belly and good LOCAL music on stage, what better way to spend a Saturday then immersed in great local culture.
