If you live in Long Beach and you STILL have not found out what “First Friday’s” are then the last one of the year is a great place to start. To sum things up, First Fridays in Bixby Knolls is a collaboration of local businesses, artists, musicians, politicians, and families to showcase all the great things happening in the Bixby Knolls part of Long Beach. Business all along the revamped Atlantic avenue or the “Connected Corridor” stay open late on the first friday of the month and host special music and art performances along with food and drink specials.
Corner stones of the event are Nino’s Italian Restaurant, who have teamed up with our friends at 562 City Life to hold their “After Hours”, The Gallery Expo, boasting over 200 linear feet of wall space and a small bar, The Factory, a new gastro-pub featuring live music outside, and the brand new Long Beach Clothing Co, who will be doing a soft preview of their new store on their very FIRST First Friday.
Our favorite thing about First Fridays is all the LIVE MUSIC that is going on everywhere you look! In the streets, on the corners, at local businesses that don’t usually do this sort of thing, its great to see so many willing participants in support of local music. With all the action along Atlantic, its pretty easy to miss some cool stuff, so we though we would highlight some of the great things going on;
