As the popular Long Beach concert series Summer And Music gets under way, despite all the June gloom hanging around the LBC, one of the most popular events of last years SAM returns this Saturday at the Marina Amphitheater next to Gladstones restaurant in Downtown Long Beach.

Battle of the Tribute Bands features 5 of SoCal’s best tribute bands competing for $3,500 in cash & prizes right on the waterfront. Thousands came out last year and cheered on the winning band Blonde Day, a No Doubt cover band. This year take the kids to this awesome free show and enjoy music by Stone Temple Co-Pilots, A tribute to Stone Temple Pilots, Pretentious, A tribute to The Pretenders, Hello Operator, A tribute to The White Stripes, TNT, A tribute to AC/DC, and The Who Show, A tribute to The Who.

The competition will also be judged by celebrity judges Johnny Vatos of Oingo Boingo, Kraig Kojian from the DLBA, and Tim Grobaty from the Press Telegram. Plus DJ Lithuanian Price on the decks, Emcee Nick “Fierce” Pierce, FREE bike valet, and ALWAYS solar powered! Make sure to get there on time, the show starts at 1pm with the first band starting at 1:30. LBPP will be there filming all the great music and fun times, but take a look at LAST years footage to get you pumped!
