Hey, we’re back! It’s Jannie and Jeremy to let you know the next show of the week. This one’s going to be extra fun! It’s the annual Dancin’ in the Streets. Matt Costa, Sam Outlaw, and Reverend Baron are playing it in downtown Long Beach on Saturday. It’s a perfect way to start the summer. The bands bring in a fresh new take on country and folk songs. Matt Costa is from Huntington Beach. His album, which is self titled, has a mix of blues, folk and chamber pop that sounds really new and refreshing. Definitely one of my favorite albums of this year. Sam Outlaw is from Los Angeles. He sounds like a mix of early Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, and Townes Van Zandt. Reverend Baron is bluesy folk with a great voice. DJ Lithuanian Prince will also be there spinning 60s northern soul records. There will also be food trucks and a beer garden! This show is presented by the terrific people of Summer and Music.

I started the Long Beach Music Guild early this year because I found a lack of information on local shows. I wanted to create a central space where we could post shows in advance and give local musicians a place to network and promote. I have many projects planned for the Long Beach Music Guild in the future and are happy to be able to work with the Long Beach Independent to further promote the local music scene.
