Surf Riot is infused with haunting harmonic melodies that invoke Pixies era Kim Deal, while delving into a world reminiscent of Blonde Redhead, or fuzzed out guitar of acts like Joy Division, The Strokes, and Interpol. A powerful juxtaposition of sultry vocals and big sound (heavy riffs), a sure recipe for a great band is at hand.

Surf Riot formed in 2013, when songwriters Crisanta Baker and Angela Jane Bachmann met in Long Beach, California. Both originally from Denver, Colorado, they grew up in the same city, but never meet until a mutual friend felt they would be a good musical pairing in California. Both ladies have sung and played with countless projects, cataloging individual extensive backgrounds. After a destined meeting of creative talents, they immediately invited bassist Michael Procaccini to the group, creating a dynamic trio; playing shows under Angela Jane’s solo project moniker.

In March of 2013, the group began recording and writing with Long Beach staple, Steve Choi (Rx Bandits, TSOAF, Peace’d Out), and caught the attention of phenomenal drummer, Goose Holyoak (Norma Jean, Fear Before the March of Flames). The project was named Surf Riot, as an homage to California surf history. The group recorded a three-song collection, and is releasing live videos in conjunction.
