“That Bumps!!” presented by Tall Robot & Long Beach Independent is featuring four local beat producers in Long Beach. In promotion and celebration of the Kickstarter for the series. We will dive into each artist. Support/Share the Campaign!

You may have seen and heard Rootnote Collective representative SUNJET aka Josh Jetson’s thumpin’ synth-tastic funk around town. Or, you could have ran into Beat Theatre, an event series he founded and runs with Memesy (Tony Damico). Josh has been around the block and is well connected. He has worked with Zackey Force Funk (HIT&RUN), Mike Gao (Alpha Pup), Zikomo (Soulection) and Avi Buffalo just to name a few.

Josh Jetson, a breakdancer, was suggested by Dibiase to start making music because he probably had plenty of rhythm from his breakdancing. Different things drive him creatively which he says he’s no different from anyone else. Through struggle, pain, and humility, he creates. Even further, sometimes he is inspired by fathers busting their ass so their daughters can live a comfortable life. Selfless people fits as another cog in this creativity. Traversing around town, seeing happy couples and old people laughing, he tries to capture that mood in his music. He doesn’t really want anyone to understand anything from his craft though. “If they get my music, they get it.” He does hope, instead of making people want to turn up all crazy, he could make them feel good about who they are and stimulate their brain while studying, relaxing, or whatever. He thinks he is a chill person who likes to live stress-free life. He works to convey that in his music by capturing different time periods or moments in time. Check out his latest tracks below!

Residing in Long Beach for about 8 years, he moved out here when he was 23 with his brother which was already here. Josh wanted an escape from East LA. He was sick and tired of it. Josh loves the temperature in Long Beach and the ability to find good eats and healthy products there. He enjoys walks and jogs along the beach feeling the nice breeze. His favorite parts of Long Beach include 4th street, Downtown and Belmont area (but not douchy 2nd Street by Panama Joe’s. No offense).

His favorite shows are always going to be Beat Theatre. It is his home and provides a healthy alternative because he is a home body. He truly feels at home putting together and putting on Beat Theatre. Catch Beat Theatre on Facebook.

A very important note in his production is that it is all original. No Samples!! Stay Tuned for new tracks of SUNJET with Sweatson Klank!

In “That Bumps!!”, we are looking to show the real people behind the beats. You are welcome to be a part of the movement!
